The Ball State University Bands enjoy a long and distinguished reputation for outstanding performances on the BSU campus, as well as at state and national conventions and athletic events. The bands are an integral part of the full range of performing ensembles offered within the Ball State School of Music.
The Ball State band program includes the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band, Concert Band, Campus Band, Ceremonial Band, the "Pride of Mid-America" Marching Band, Basketball Band, and additional athletic pep bands.
Membership in any of the university bands is open to all Ball State students regardless of their ability level or major field of study.
The mission of the Ball State band program is to foster a commitment to excellence that enables students to reach their highest level of musical performance and artistry, whether in the concert hall or athletic field. The program offers a balanced curriculum that prepares music majors for professional careers and provides non-music majors an outlet for musical growth, expression and creativity.
